Ali Ahsan is an independent director of IGI Holdings Limited. He is also a partner at Renaissance Advisers, a boutique advisory and consulting firm where he advises financial institutions and diversified conglomerates on matters of growth and transactions.
Previously, he spent nearly a decade with McKinsey & Company in New York and Pakistan, where he helped establish the firm’s Karachi office in 2014, and led the team that won the firm’s global New Ventures Competition in 2017. Before that, Ali served as a special assistant and speechwriter to United Nations Secretaries-General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon. Ali began his career at the New York law firm, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he focused on private equity buyouts and fund formation.
Ali is also Chairman of the Board of Generation Pakistan, a non-profit focused on skills development, and on the board of Epigen Global Fund, an investment firm based out of Hong Kong.
Ali received a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School and was admitted to the Bar in New York and Lahore. He also has a B.A. in economics, mana cum laude, phi beta kappa, from Harvard University
